Knee Pain
Patellar Tendinitis (Jumpers Knee)
Patellar tendonitis most commonly results from overuse and strenuous physical activity, particularly in sports that require a lot of jumping. In some rare cases, patellar tendonitis can be caused by an injury or trauma to the knee. The most common symptom of patellar tendonitis is pain which increases with activity, directly over the patellar tendon (just below the kneecap). Other symptoms include swelling and loss of mobility.
Treatment options include rest, ice, anti-inflammatory medications, stretching exercises, physical therapy, use of a brace, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), and Bone Marrow Concentrate.
